Area Planning
Area Planning is the process of strategic planning for primary and post-primary education provision to support the implementation of the Sustainable Schools Policy, Special Schools Area Planning Framework and Framework for Specialist provision in Mainstream Schools.
Area Planning process
The GBA supports member schools with the Area Planning process in a number of ways:
- Supporting schools that have gone through the Development Proposal process, for example an amalgamation.
- Supporting schools considering a significant change in size or character.
- Bringing forward expressions of interest for schools interested in Specialist Provision in Mainstream schools and providing information to schools about the provision.
